When can I come to the library?
You may come to the library when your teacher brings you.
How do I check out books?
You may:
Hand the librarian your ID card.
Tell the librarian the last six digits of your ID number.
Tell the librarian your name.
How many books can I check out?
You may check out three books at a time.
How long can I keep my books?
Books are checked out for three weeks. You can renew your books as many times as you need to.
What happens if I turn in my books late?
If the book is over four weeks late, the book will be considered lost. You will be charged the cost of the book and can’t check out any books until it’s paid for or returned.
What happens if I lose a book?
If you lose a book, you will be charged the cost of the book, you will not receive your report card, and the charge will follow you from grade to grade and school to school if it is not paid. You will not be allowed to check out any books until the book is paid for or returned to the library.

What does it mean?
You follow the rules and procedures of the library.
You behave correctly while in the library. No running, playing, or loud voices.
You treat all library materials properly, including books, library computers, and furniture (no tipping back in chairs, no writing on tables, etc.).
You clean up your area before leaving and push in chairs.
For others
What does it mean?
You follow the Golden Rule: You treat others as you would like to be treated. No name-calling or bullying.
You keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
You do not take another student’s belongings without asking permission.
You use words like please, thank you, excuse me, etc.
You raise your hand and wait to be called on.
You address your teachers as Miss, Ms. Mrs., or Mr.
For yourself
What does it mean?
This is the easiest! By following the rules and behaving in the proper manner, you show respect for yourself.
If you choose not to follow the rules of the library, the following may happen:
You may not be able to check out materials at that time.
You may be removed from the library, or sent back to class.
You may be given a lunch detention.
You may be referred to the principal or assistant principal for other disciplinary actions.
